I believe you

   When I came back from the party this night, I have to enter into Brandon 's building, and I could do it just asking to the guard and he trusts when I said I was living by someone. I didn't have to show an ID, to write my name on a list or anything else.

   And it's quietly the same in all the MIT: the administration of the school trusts it students; maybe they have enough money to pay people to assure the security on the campus, but the life here is not constrained by administrative reasons. If students want, they can study in the library in the middle of the night, they have free access to the sports building, a shop is open very late in the students hall. And I mean, if you feel fine and free on the campus of your school, if it becomes your campus, it's a good way to study better.

   After a short night we leave Boston to NYC, and Nathalia doesn't lock her door even if she has to be 200 miles away during 2 days; but I think it's because we are in a school and students trust each other.

   Now I am in NYC, a dream is becoming reality. Through the windows of this Chinese bus appear Manhattan 's skyscrapers. In the subway, we loose 20 $ in a tickets machine, and after that we go to see a woman in charge, we explain what happened, and she says “I believe you” without we show her any evidence, she gives us the address of the complaint office and she let us go in without paying.

   The most amazing thing I saw in New York is how we managed to sleep in an hotel in a room for two people whereas we were seven. Two by two we went into the hotel after Nathalia and Hatim had got the keys, and I don't know if they were so blind not to have seen it, or so nice to let us do it: but I think I will never know.

    After that we had lunch in a small restaurant and we got our food, and we have to pay at the opposite side, and I know it's not possible in because too many people would want to steel something.

   So it seems that American people are freer than we are in , because they respect the law, and it's easier to trust them . Maybe it's true but first they have to do a lot of things to get this “freedom”, and French people are not ready to do it, and then I think that this freedom is not the same for every body. For example at the airport, the passport control was very quick for me whereas Hatim should have stayed longer because they ask him a lot of questions. Also in Time square, I don't know exactly what happened because I didn't want to stay but there was a kind of fight between policemen and Afroamerican people, and I have the feeling that they don't feel integrated to th American society and they want to show they exist, and maybe that's why they wanted to provoke the policemen last night.
